Job summary

As an Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor, you’ll promote the health and safety and lead the GC Passport. You’ll use your strong client service and collaboration skills to ensure the safety of our employees, lead prevention projects and initiatives, and advise and influence leaders within the organization.

Location

All jobs are in Ottawa, Ontario. CSE has two accessible facilities. Flexible work arrangements, including telework for a portion of the work week, may be possible.

Essential qualifications

In order to be considered, your cover letter must clearly explain how you meet the following education and experience requirements.

Education

You must have either one of the following:

  • A university degree in a field related to the position, such as but not limited to, human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology.
  • A college diploma combined with relevant training and experience in a field related to the position.

Note: The educational program must be recognized in Canada, and you must be able to provide proof of education credentials. Students graduating within the next twelve months are eligible to apply.

Experience

  • Experience researching and interpreting health and safety legislation, policies and standards to provide informed advice, guidance, and recommendation on complex* Occupational Health & Safety matters to senior management.
  • Experience in leading or managing multi-disciplinary teams, project teams or working groups.
  • Experience developing a variety of communication products, such as but not limited to: reports, presentations, correspondence or briefing notes.

Note: for the purposes of this selection process, "complex matters" are issues with at least two of the following characteristics: multi-dimensional, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent-setting or having a major impact on a business process.
